SUMMARY
American Services Technology, Inc. is seeking full time Janitors to support the Janitorial Services operations at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site. The Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition building working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office or trailer. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings;

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one of the three months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure established standards and procedures for cleaning and maintenance of all facilities are being followed in the performance of daily/nightly duties.
  • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, walls and trim.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor as scheduled.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture as scheduled on weekly planner per contract specification.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork as scheduled on weekly/monthly planner as specified in contract.
  • Dusts furniture as scheduled on weekly planner per contract specification and equipment nightly after use. Polishes metalwork with stainless steel cleaner.
  • Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies. Notify facility manager of lights requiring new bulbs or replace light bulbs if required by contract. Complete the required company administrative documents.

Assist in performing weekly inventories of supplies and equipment. Complete the required documents for requested materials and submit to Team Supervisor for review and submission Team Supervisor for finial review for turn in to branch office for processing.   • Has daily contact and coordination with NASA employees being relocated on and off Center.
  • Schedules and coordinates the flow of work performing a pre-move survey to ensure employees are packed and ready to be moved and that the office being relocated to is outfitted properly and ready to accept employees moving in.
  • Performs post-move surveys to ensure the moves were completed as scheduled, that employees being moved are satisfied with the service they received, and that all personal property was moved with no loss or damage.
  • Operates a personal computer and has a thorough understanding of the Service Request System software.
  • Compiles information for reutilization furniture inventory each month and makes recommendations to the Government concerning inventory levels and provides information to determine status of current orders and to forecast needs to fill future orders.
  • Establishes and maintains a moving crate management system.
  • Ensures moving crates and dollies are delivered three (3) days prior to personnel being moved and that the crates are picked up three (3) days after the completion of the move.
  • Investigates and make recommendations to the Government regarding requested moves that require attention or assistance in order to complete the moves.
